US Foreign Policy: The Musical starring Hall & Oates

The Obama administration often makes parody a challenge because, well, because it so often is a parody of itself – usually without even trying. A clear case in point was the recent appearance in France of Secretary of State John Kerry and his friend, singer-songwriter James Taylor. Kerry brought Taylor over to perform the song (actually written by Carol King) “You’ve Got A Friend” at an event at the Paris city hall. I am quite fond of James Taylor’s music and own most of his albums, but this seemed a bit, well, odd. The point, as near as we...

Liberal Looniness leads in Washington DC

Posted by on Mar 10, 2015 in Current Events, Uncategorized | 0 comments

From trusting Obama’s trust in Iran, giving illegal immigrants tax refunds, Hillary Clinton’s illegal cash grab, American jobs down the drain its just looney Refund. It’s a fairly easy word; it means to give back or to make repayment. Someone returns money to you that you had previously paid.   The IRS seems a bit confused by the word. The tax collection agency says that under President Obama’s executive amnesty, illegal immigrants can claim up to three years’ refunds, even if they have never paid any income taxes in the...

In the spirit of the season, Barack Obama was in a giving mood, North Korea was just in a “mood,” and is there really anything higher about higher education? President Obama granted the Cuban government an early Christmas gift by cutting a deal to normalize diplomatic relations between Cuba and the United States. Cuba gets the opportunity to boost its forever flagging economy. Raul Castro hopes the pitiful economic conditions will improve all the way up to dreadful. Boy, he could only hope! Cuba gets tourism from the United States and...

I’m ready for my close-up, Mr. Kim Jong-un

Last week was a busy week for tyrannical dictators. Busy, but good – for them. The Sony hack job was officially blamed on North Korea by the FBI. Apparently, the hacking and subsequent threats were in retaliation for Sony’s production of the Seth Rogan and James Franco comedy, The Interview. The hackers threatened greater harm if the movie was released and shown in movie theaters across the county. Taking a cue from President Obama, who has bowed to so many foreign leaders he made my back hurt, Sony Pictures bowed to the threat. Check out the...

What I learned in 2014 – and it was plenty!

Posted by on Jan 2, 2015 in Current Events | 0 comments

As the year comes to a close, it is a good time to reflect on what I learned in 2014. Boy, I learned a lot! Here are some of the highlights. After the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, I learned that a missing airliner can keep an entire news network afloat for nearly two months. CNN devoted more time to covering missing Flight 370 than E! spent on the Kardashians. Who knew that was even possible? Following another Malaysia Airline mishap, this time a plane shot down by the Russians, or Ukrainian militants, or Lee Harvey Oswald,...

The Essence of Hillary

Posted by on Jan 2, 2015 in Current Events | 0 comments

Recently, a country music video, Stand with Hillary, was produced by a new super PAC of the same name. If there is a point, it is that it’s never too early to release a music video to implore Americans who drive pickups and tractors to get behind the Hillary Clinton for President machine. The video shows a hunky cowboy type singing about, well, Hillary. Let’s be clear, there isn’t a cowboy this side of Brokeback Mountain that’ll vote for Hillary in 2016. The video inspires no one, not even the Dixie Chicks –and I think they actually like the...

Two Examples Of Why The Left Is Nuts

Two Examples Of Why The Left Is Nuts

There are a couple of things we know about scientists. They generally lack social skills. They have no fashion sense. For example, I would have had no business being in the same room with Albert Einstein intellectually, but I possess one thing that he clearly lacked – a comb! Recently, the European Space Agency’s Rosetta project landed a space probe on a comet.  (On a comet!) That’s a ridiculously complicated task. I can’t even parallel park. Both scientific traits were on display following the impressive feat when Matt Taylor, a Rosetta...

Why democrats should never be in charge of anything – ever!

Why democrats should never be in charge of anything – ever!

Distilling the myriad of reasons why Democrats should never be in charge of anything – ever – is a monumental task. A comprehensive list of reasons could fill the Library of Congress, the Superdome, Soldier Field, and at least a dozen college basketball arenas. Space does not permit that extensive of a list, but here is a start. 1. Jonathan Gruber. Gruber is an economics professor at MIT and one of the Obamacare key architects. He is also an arrogant big mouth. Naturally, being an arrogant big mouth is a bit of a requirement if one is a...

The Republican Wave – A post election recap

Posted by on Nov 16, 2014 in Uncategorized | 0 comments

Heading into last week’s election it looked like it would be a good day for Republicans. Some predicted a wave and it turned out to be such. I think even Iowa’s Joni Ernst was seen carrying s surfboard. Here is a post-election recap. Although it appeared it would be a Republican year, there were a few holdouts who were convinced the Democrats would keep control of the Senate. One such holdout was Vice-President Joe Biden. In an interview just prior to the election he predicted the Senate would remain in the hands of the Democrats. First, if I...
